As we celebrate our 25-year anniversary, Xiamen International School (XIS) continues to provide a quality, student-centered education for our diverse community. XIS offers an inquiry-based education that is rooted in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme. Our educational team offers the Primary Years Programme (PYP) to Pre-K-Grade 5 students, Middle Years Programme (MYP) to Grade 6-10 students, and the Diploma Programme (DP) to Grades 11 and 12. Students at XIS fit into the mold of the IB philosophy that aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
Besides being authorized to offer all three IB programmes, XIS is also a member of the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS), which allows us to network best practices with other like-minded international schools. XIS is also accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
Our outstanding teaching staff is the backbone of the education that we provide to our students. With over 15 nationalities represented, XIS teachers average over 12 years of teaching experience. XIS students score above the world average on the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress), the SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test), and on IB exams. The result is when our students graduate from XIS, many attend prestigious universities in all corners of the world.
