Life in Xiamen

With over two million residents on the island of Xiamen, the city is relatively small for China. However, its size and careful urban planning make it one of the most livable cities in China. Xiamen offers a high level of personal safety, and excellent air quality compared to larger cities like Shanghai and Beijing.

The city poses plenty of green space and is well known for its beautiful parks, tree-lined streets, and beaches. While Chinese style dining and entertainment options abound, a variety of Western amenities are available.

Xiamen is also a popular tourist destination for Chinese nationals because of its pleasant climate and historic sites. Furthermore, recent expansions at the Xiamen International Airport are making Xiamen a regional hub with direct flights to many cities in China, East Asia, and the world.
